Never ever have I had that procedure done in an office.
I have only had that done under a general. I had a new uro that we fired the same day I saw her. She wanted to do one and I said I have IC with Hunner Ulcers, and she said that is ok, as it is not painful. Now I know better and that is why I was put under for mine before. I told her no way in office like that. She said to go under is overkill and not necessary. I need not say more as how we walked out of the office done right there and then.
I am sure some of you have had in office before. I cannot imagine with the ulcers having that done.
She also said something I have never ever heard of. She said the Hunner Ulcers heal overtime and go away. I am thinking I know Rhonda and I would sure love that. I am wondering if anyone else has ever heard that said before.
I also want to know about in office cysto when you have IC with Hunner Ulcers,as my thinking from before is no.
I will be looking for a new uro. My old one retired so not have him anymore. This one I searched out but I felt the in office cysto was not ok for me as my others were done under because the doctor said to me it is way to painful to have the patient awake.
And if anyone knows of a very good uro in Denver Metro and surrounding areas please tell me, one that knows IC.
Would any of you that have IC with Hunner ulcers have in office cystos?
Maybe some of you have.
Are they awful if you have the ulcers?
Thanks,
Shar

I would've walked out too! My uro suggested I do the Hydro & Cysto in the office & I said "over my dead body", he was shocked! He then agreed to schedule the outpatient procedure :D

Little he knew I had already been on the other message boards & heard the horror stories from others who had this done in the office. Let these doctors have it done to THEM & see how it feels huh?!

in an in office cystosopcy they are only supposed to use a light and cammera....look in....but some doctors don't realize this! The doctors that put anything in there to see better are making the procedure much more painful and it shouldn't be done at all that way.

A Regularly in office cystsopcy...which I have had done a few times....is not supposed to be more than a minor discomfort of the catheter and such....but the point of it in diagnosing IC is so minimal that alone it does nothing!!

Hydro cystoscopy in office should be a crime!!!!

There is no way I will have one in office. I was put under for all mine and that is the only way I will do that. That is why we turned and walked out on very first appointment. And said we will not be back.
That is idiotic.

You did the right thing! In no way on heaven or earth even h%ll for that matter would I have one done in the office while awake. I can just image them burning the hunners off my bladder as they have to tie me down and hold me down to get the job done. Then they better hope like heck they knocked me out before i got lose or when I got loose it sure wouldn't be a pretty site. and they better hope they are in no way in my site when I wake up either! I would go to jail because I would be out to kill someone!
That is insane!!!!!!!!!!
I know my bladder is bad. I know just by waking up from the hydro/cyst how much pain i'm in due to all the ulcers they have to burn. I go through this now every four months when it use to be every six.
no way. I tell you. NO WAY!!

only type of person who would say something like that is crazy don't have IC or know to much about it Or someone just seeing dollar signs!

Just pure mad!

so glad you walked out. sorry I know my post is a bit harsh, but know living soul should have to go threw something like that and I feel for the ones who has.
suprise that Dr. is still a live after hurting a patients in such a way. Exp if they removed hunners.

and Hunners don't always go away on there on. I'm living proof of that!

I had one in office done while I was still searching for a dx...The pain was so bad I passed out in the parking lot. HE WAS A DUCK DOCTOR...
quack, quack, quack. You get the picture. If Hunner's heal and
go away did she tell ya when I can expect this miracle to
happen??? I wonder how some of these Uro's ever get started
in Medicine. Well, that is my feeling on this subject..
